Envirogard launches new Rainfresh Chloramine Reduction Filter Cartridge
Toronto, October 2008

Envirogard has recently introduced the new Rainfresh Chloramine Reduction cartridge model CA1, the first of its kind available at retail in Canada. Many municipalities are using a process called “chloramination” to disinfect water, a process which involves adding ammonia along with chlorine. Chloramination reduces the risk of formation of cancerous by-products, but also renders an offensive taste and odour to water. Chloraminated water is also very toxic to fish and also makes water more corrosive. It is estimated that about 11 million people in Canada drink chloraminated water.

The new Rainfresh CA1 filter cartridge is certified for use with Rainfresh drinking water systems. It can also be used with other competitive systems.
