If your water comes from a private well or lake and you worry about the microbiological safety of the water, Rainfresh UV Water Disinfection systems could be the solution that you have been looking for.

Rainfresh UV water systems disinfect water by using the natural, non-chemical disinfection properties of ultraviolet light. UV systems inactivate bacteria (e.g. E.coli), coliform, viruses and other microorganisms using a germicidal wavelength of 254 nm & a UV dose of 40 mJ/cm², making the water safe to drink from virtually any potable source.

The UV system is installed on the main line, after the pressure tank and any other treatment devices (e.g. water softener, iron filter etc), before the water line divides into hot and cold. As water flows through the UV system, the UV light instantly disinfects water, making it safe to drink.

 Rainfresh UV water systems are ideal for homes, cottages, laboratories, industries, offices etc. They are available in 3 sizes – 5 US GPM, 8 US GPM (shown on left) & 12 US GPM (shown on right).

•  All models are independently tested for > 40 mJ/cm2 UV dose at end of lamp life (NSF/ANSI 55A dose requirement)  at rated flow
• They feature an audible alarm and visual LED lamp expiry indicator (with 7-day override feature) to show end of lamp life - 9000 hrs of use (approx 1 year) 
• Includes electronic controller (ballast), power cord and mounting bracket, UV lamp & quartz dome
• Must install 5 micron or finer sediment pre-filter (Model FC100 or FC150 or high flow model BH010 Note: Pre-filter model FC100 is included with UV model R830F only) 
• Installs easily in 60-75 minutes - easy-to-follow instructions for do-it-yourself installation included
• All Rainfresh UV water systems are tested and certified by CSA international to CSA B483.1.

GET A FREE WATER TEST: For a UV system to work properly, water must not have any colour or tannin. Also, for waters with high hardness, iron or manganese, additional pre-treatment may be required. Model R519 UV System – max flow rate 5 US GPM (19 LPM) – for 1 or 1.5 bathroom home/cottage, 1/2" piping  
Model R830/R830F UV System - max flow rate 8 US GPM (30 LPM) – for 2 or 2.5 bathroom home/cottage, 3/4" piping
Model R1245 UV System – max flow rate 12 US GPM (45 LPM) – for 3-4 bathrooms, 3/4" piping.

You may alternatively choose to install an inline flow control which will prevent exceeding the maximum rated flow rate through the UV system.
